Minutes of the First Annual General Body Meeting(A.G.M.) of “ India Posts’ Retired
Officers’ Association”.
The first
Annual General Body Meeting (A.G.M.) of India Posts’ Retired Officers’
Association” was held on Saturday the 25th June 2016 at 11.0 a.m.in
the Conference Hall of Dadar I.Q. Dadar HO building, Dadar (East) Mumbai 400014
under the chairmanship of Shri R. Ganesan Ex Secretary to Govt. of India,
Director General, Department of Posts
& Hon’ble President of the Association.
2. Following members were present in the meeting:-

3. Two minutes
silence was observed in condolence of Shri M.B.Bijekar would be member of the
Association who breathed his last on 5th June 2016 at Manchar Pune.
4. Shri
S.P.Sardal welcomed the President, vice Presidents & all members present in
the meeting.
5. While
delivering his key note address Shri R. Ganesan Hon’ble President of the Association
expressed his pleasure at the presence of several members including women
members despite heavy rains. He pointed out that at one point of time small
number of attendance of the members for the meetings had a threat to wind up
the
activities of
the Association but Shri U.P.C. Tauro after taking over as Secretary of the
Association has done an excellent job of contacting many Retired Officers &
by his all out efforts resulting in as many as 25 members attending the AGM
despite heavy rains. All members spontaneously acknowledged the views of Shri
R. Ganesan Hon’ble President of the
Association.
6. While
delivering his welcome speech Col K.C. Mishra V.S.M. Hon’ble Vice President of
the Association, first of all, praised the role of Shri R. Ganesan Hon’ble
President of the Association. He stated that the talk on the topic “Who am I”
given by Shri R. Ganesan during the last meeting has been appreciated by one
& all to whom he had circulated & he is now personally following it. He
welcomed all the members in the AGM. He also appreciated the efforts taken by
Shri U.P.C. Tauro Secretary of the Association in making the AGM arrangements.
In his short address emphasized the need of making the meeting more
entertaining with fun filled activities devoting minimum required time to
official part of business. He also invited all members to attend the next
meeting of the Association of Retired Gazetted Officers of Dept. of Posts
Western Maharashtra Pune.
7. Shri Vijay
Khanna Hon’ble Vice President of the Association, while speaking on the
occasion, expressed his happiness to see the Association activities improving.
8. Shri U.P.C.
Tauro Secretary of the Association presented before the house the Logo designs
of the Association along with concept of Logo design with the help of power
point slides. House unanimously approved one out of two designs. The approved
Logo was immediately unveiled by Shri R. Ganesan Hon’ble President of the
Association.
9. Shri Shankar Siwal, the Anchor of the
programme informed the house that Smt Geeta Bhatt daughter of Shri S.V.
Narayankar Organising Secretary had taken all the troubles to design the Logo
of the Association. House welcomed Smt Geetha for her excellent job. Shri R.
Ganesan Hon’ble President of the Association felicitated both Smt Geetha Bhatt
& Shri S.V.Narayankar presenting bouquets & memento as a mark of
appreciation under the continuous applauds of clappings from all the members.
10. Smt Geetha Bhatt in brief explained the
concept of the design of the Logo and showed her pleasure to make the design for
the cause of the Association as she is closely associated with the Dept of
Posts.
11. Shri
U.P.C. Tauro Secretary of the Association presented the Annual Report of the
year 2014-2016 before the house which was adopted unanimously. The said report
is sent to all the members by email& also published in the Blog.
12. Shri
R.K.Joshi Treasurer of the Association presented the Financial Report of the
year 2014-2015. It was adopted unanimously. Further, Shri R. Ganesan Hon’ble
President of the Association added that zerox copies of the annual account
statement
may be given
to all the members present while reading out the accounts, as that will help
those present to follow the position better. This may be done in future AGMs.
13. Ms Humera
Ahmed Hon’ble Vice President of the Association gave a power point presentation
“Coping With a Changing World” with the emphasis on Retirement and Ageing in
the present times. She very well explained how the change is constant and the
changes in personal life. She spoke in detail about ageing & coping with
change. How the new interest can be developed & benefits of retirement
/Ageing were also briefly explained. She also gave the names of some reference
books on Ageing & also some quotes from famous writers were recited.
Members showed great interest in the topic. All have appreciated this.
14. Shri Vijay
Khanna Hon’ble Vice President of the Association narrated his experience while
working as ADG (IR) in Postal Directorate, New Delhi where he could arrange
delivery with the help of his counterpart in Australia of a parcel consignment
to a remote African country where there was no direct parcel service was
available from India. Ms Humera Ahmed Hon’ble Vice President of the Association
expressed her idea to document such experiences of the members they had come
across during their long spell of active service. All members agreed to narrate
their experiences and send them to Ms Humera Ahmed Hon’ble Vice President of
the Association who consented to edit them & publish in the Blog.
15. Shri
Shankar Siwal informed the gathering that our Association is progressing not
only in terms of quantity adding more and more number of members but quality of
activities in terms of improved technology is also taken care of. Unveiling of
Logo of the Association was one step ahead followed by designing of the blog of
the Association titled “www.iproamh.com”. The Blog of the Association was
designed by Shri Kiran Reddy Inspector of Post Offices without any cost for
designing of the Blog other than Registration Charges.
16. Shri R.
Ganesan Hon’ble President of the Association launched the Blog of the
Association “www.iproamh.com”. All the members appreciated the design of the
Blog & efforts taken by Shri Kiran Reddy Inspector of Post Offices for the
excellent designing of the Blog.
17.Shri Kiran
Reddy Inspector of Post Offices was felicitated by Ms Humera Ahmed Hon’ble Vice
President of the Association with bouquet & memento in token of
appreciation. Praising the work of Shri Kiran Reddy Inspector of Post Offices Ms
Humera Ahmed Hon’ble Vice President of the Association expressed her pleasure
that such a professional job was executed by one Postal Community member
18. House
deliberated at length on the need to know the views of the members “What do
they expect from the Association? Get together, Picnics or an opportunity to
share their experiences.” so that members get encouragement to participate
actively. Members agreed to have get together combined with picnic and a chance
to share their experiences.
19. Regarding
nomination of Internal Auditor to the Association Shri J.S.Patil was requested
to be the Auditor till a suitable person from Accounts Line is appointed. Shri J.S. Patil consented to be the Auditor. He was
thanked for his gesture.
20. The house
discussed and decided to enrol membership to the Association from entire
Maharashtra & Goa Postal Circle as IPROA is for whole Circle of Maharashtra
and Goa. This may enable formation of Regional Chapters too in future,
generating greater activities across the Circle. Already Pune has taken the
lead for bringing together the retired officers of the circle under the active
leadership of Col.K.C. Mishra VSM (Retd.)
21. During
discussion the house observed the need to get more active participation from
the members residing on Central Line Suburbs beyond Thane. Shri Shankar Siwal
accepted the responsibility to collect & prepare the list of Retired
Officers residing in that area with contact details to approach them. Shri M.S.
Nimje, Shri R.S.Rajan & Shri S.P.Sardal will assist the Secretary to
coordinate & contact the members. It was unanimously decided to have the
next meeting in Thane so as to enable all the Retired Officers staying on the
Central Line can attend the next meeting.
22. Regarding
the motto of the Association it was decided to discuss it during the next
meeting. In the meantime our members are requested share their views by sending
suggestions, if any, to the Secretary, who can compile all these and place
before the next meeting.
23. About half
an hour prior to lunch was devoted exclusively for entertainment activities
from the members. All enjoyed the Songs, Shayaries and Jokes from members amongst
them. A song sung by Ms Geetha Bhatt & another by Shri S.P.Sardal received
appreciation from members.
24. It was
decided unanimously to hold the next meeting at Thane on Saturday the 22nd
October 2016 at 11.0 a.m. followed by Lunch. Secretary will decide the venue in
Thane for the meeting.
25. Meeting
was concluded at 2.0 p.m. after vote of thanks extended by Shri Shankar Siwal
in favour of those who made efforts to participate and made the AGM a grand
success.
