The National Joint Council of Action (NJCA), National Confederation of Central Government Employees & Workers, along with other staff side unions had demanded the regularization of contractual workers, apart from revision of their minimum salary as per the recommendations of 7th Pay Commision.
According to report of 7th Pay Commission submitted by Justice (retd) AK Mathur, the minimum salary of central government employees have been scaled to Rs 18,000. Under the 6th Pay Commission, the basic minimum pay was Rs 7,000. However, the salaries of contractual employees have not been raised.

His reply was published by Lok Sabha today. Meghwal made it clear that no proposal is under consideration to hike the salaries of central government employees according to the 7CPC report.
