Automated Mail Processing Centre - Video
Setting up of AMPCs in Delhi and Kolkata is a part of the Rs. 40-crore project taken up by the Centre to bring in technological innovations and speed up the mail delivery system in the country.

The AMPC will have a Letter Sorting machine, which will sort around nearly 40,000 letters every hour while the Mixed mail sorting machine – mainly for parcels - will have the capacity to sort nearly 20,000 mails an hour. Presently, manual processing of mails results in sorting of 1,000 mails per person every hour.
