58 Lakh Pensioners to get ESIC Medical Cover

The government will provide medical services to all retired pensioners under the employees’ state insurance corporation (ESIC) which currently provides such facilities to only existing workers and their families in the organised sector.

The decision, announced by Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya during his intervention in the Lok Sabha on Friday , will benefit 58 lakh pensioners across the country .

Dattatreya said, “We are also providing medical services to the retired pensioners… 58 lakh of them will be benefited.”
