New Delhi, July 19: Amid the government’s push to link Aadhaar with most of the services, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched an app called mAadhaar to make the process simpler. This newly launched mAadhaar App will help people carry their unique identification profile on smartphones and furnish the document whenever asked. The mAadhaar app is available only for Android phone users and can be downloaded from Google Play Store. It has to be noted that a user will need a registered Aadhaar-linked mobile number to use the app.
The app can be installed on any Android phone running on Android 5.0 and up and a registered mobile number is mandatory requirement to sign-up.  UIDAI has also mentioned in a disclaimer saying that the app is currently in beta mode which means that users may encounter bugs and issues. Some of the services will only be applicable after subsequent updates.
