Entering into an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with India post, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has propelled this facility under which updates about Aadhaar can be accessed at post offices. The Aadhaar can be updated at the head post office in Jamshedpur from first week of August.

Aadhaar correction or updated work will start at Bistupur head post office, Tatanagar post office in Golpahari and Chaibasa post office for which the postal department has demanded a slot. The operators have been trained for which special counters will be setup in the post offices. For the post-enabled application of change request, you will need to download the update/correction form.

Data like name, address, mobile phone number, gender and date of birth can be modified. For changes in name, address, mobile phone number, gender, e-mail id and date of birth Rs 25 will be charges along with Rs 20 for colour print out and Rs 10 for black and white.

You can make a maximum of four change requests with your Aadhaar. With the largest postal network in the world, the new provision enabled by UIDAI will help in reaching out to Aadhaar holders across the country which has around 1,39,182 post offices in the rural areas.
