New facilities set up at Tallakulam post office
0 Madurai: An exclusive counter for booking international mails and business post centre (BPC) was inaugurated at the Tallakulam post office on Tuesday. Postmaster general of southern region, Ananth inaugurated these facilities.
At this exclusive counter, all international mails like letter, parcel, speed post, international tracked packets could be booked. Such exclusive counters are already functional at Chennai, Trichy and Coimbatore. It will help customers booking international mails get dedicated facility. Tamil Nadu circle generates substantial revenue from international mail business and this will further boost from exclusive counters, postal department officials said.
Similarly, business post centre at Tallakulam post office will cater to needs of business customers and bulk mailers. These customers will no longer be required to tender their articles at the counter. They will be provided dedicates service from BPC. It is the second BPC to be made functional at Madurai since the other one is working at Madurai head office. Apart from these, three more BPCs are functional in southern region like Nagarcoil, Palayamkottai and Tuticorin. A total of 300 BPCs are functional in Tamil Nadu circle, according to postal department sources. Bulk customers can avail any mailing service from these BPCs as the department provides total mailing solution to mailing requirements of bulk customers, they said.
