Stamp cover honour for Padmashri Nerella Venumadhav
Hyderabad: A new stamp cover will be released by India Post in the name of Padmashri awardee Dr Nerella Venumadhav as tribute to his contributions to the art of mimicry.
The special cover will be launched on Tuesday by Telangana Chief Postmaster General B Chandrasekhar at the General Post Office (GPO), Abids.
Hailing from Warangal, Venumadhav will turn 85 on December 28. He is the first Indian mimic and ventriloquist to perform at the headquarters of the United Nations. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards and is responsible for introducing mimicry as a subject in the curriculum of Telugu University.
