Philately exhibition

The Department of Posts hosted a philately exhibition to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at the Head Post Office here on Friday.

The event marked the Philately Day, observed as part of the National Postal Week. An array of stamps on Gandhi was on display at the expo inaugurated by Bhimaraya Metri, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchi, and N.Ravichandran, Commissioner, Tiruchi Corporation.

Ambesh Upmanyu, Postmaster General, Central Region, Tiruchi, and A.Thomas Lourduraj, Director of Postal Services, Central Region, were present. The top performers of the department in Central Region-TN Circle, who secured top three places in printing of “My Stamps,” were awarded prizes on the occasion, a press release said.
