Sub: Request to provide information regarding action taken on my
Federation letters in regard to Covid-19
Government of India declared National lockdown from 24/03/2020 further the government declared that Postal service is essential service.
In the last 23 days my Federation addressed letters requesting issue clarification/instructions from your office to the heads of circles on various very important issues. It is the most unfortunate that your office not even acknowledged of our letters till date.
Chairman Postal Services Board is very well aware that how postal officials suffer in the ground level at this juncture. We did not demand anything new for the postal officials.We are requesting your office to issue clarification/ Instructions to the heads of circles on the basis of DOP&T, MOH and Railway orders and clarification. But so far there is no reply.
Again I am listing the chronological wise letters addressed to your office with high hope that you will direct our DDG/ADG to give suitable instructions to the heads of circles on the subjects mentioned.
1] Extend the Insurance coverage of Rs.50 Lakhs to the Postal Staff including the GDS. Dated 30/03/2020.
2) Regarding Exemption of Physically Disabled persons from Duty dated 10/04/2020
3] Payment of wages to Part-time/Daily Rated Mazdoor (DRM) And outsourced persons during lock down period –reg dated 10/04/2020.
4) Request to issue necessary instructions to stop collection and submission Letters of Authorization from the members till the Normalcy restored dated 10/04/2020
5) Request to draw the Salary to all the staff for the period of lock Down. Dated 10/04/2020
6) Request to treat the period of absence of our officials due to Complete Lockdown. Dated 15/04/2020
7) Covid-19 – implications on Postal & RMS operation - Consider the Issues submitted – urgently dated 16/04/2020.
With high hope I send this remainder to your office anticipating orders from the Department based on the DOP&T, MOH and Railway orders and clarifications.
