ALL INDIA POSTAL EMPLOYEES UNION GROUP 'C'
ToThe Postmaster-General,
Chennai City region, Chennai-600002
Sir,
Sub: Irregular continuance of System administrators over 10 & 15 years - case of Chennai City North division - regarding
It is brought to our notice that there are seven system administrators in Chennai City North division who are working in the sensitive posts over ten, twelve and more years. Out of seven SAS, one has alone completed seven years and the remaining are continuing more than ten years.
It is crystal clear that the system administrators should also be rotated after three years and they are also subjected to tenure and cannot hold the posts permanently which has caused vested interest and power centre in the divisions. Because of the prolonged continuance in the sensitive and influence posts continuously for a long period, the other officials are under the grip of fear as if they are close to the administration and they cannot be questioned even by the SPMs. A different situation is prevailing in the division which should not be allowed. They are also subjected to the rotational transfer and they should be rotated.
There are more young officials possessing higher technical qualifications and are willing to work as system administrators. Willingness may be called for and the selection may be made to relieve the vested interests and power centres who are working in the posts prolongingly against to the Directorate orders.
It is therefore requested to cause appropriate orders to the divisional head to replace the officials who are being continued beyond the tenure.
A line in reply about the action taken is highly solicited.
Yours sincerely,
A.Veeramani,
Circle Secretary
