Five Days Week for Post Office and RMS Operative Staff is a legitimate demand

Five Days Week for Post Office and RMS Operative Staff is a legitimate demand

Dear friends,
A serious discrimination is rolling over in between the Administrative and Operative staff for decades with respect to 5 days and 6 days week respectively. Moreover, while Bank and Insurance sector employees are enjoying 2nd and 4th Saturday as holiday, now as per recent agreement in between IBA and UFBU, Banks will avail Five-Days week henceforth. While Postal Department is performing both the banking and insurance works in addition to its traditional mail services and other several premium products and services,  its operative employees should not be treated separately. The basic principle of equality of status as a major constitutional provision is seriously hampered when postal operative staff are deprived of the benefit of 5 days week.  All operative staff need to avail 5 days week and to work for 1989 hours a year at par with the administrative staff as detailed in the given table.
