Respected Madam,
Sub: Deduction of TDS in SCSS accounts even after updation of 15H -reg.
Mon, 8 Apr 2024 at 15:17
Our Union brings the following common issue faced by all offices for a solution please. This is regarding deduction of TDS in SCSS accounts even after submission of 15H by the customer and updation of the same by the counter clerk.
Even though 15H form is updated in SCSS account while opening of the account itself, TDS is being deducted for the SCSS accounts opened in the financial year 2023-2024. Every year we are facing such type of issues. This leads to dissatisfaction among SCSS customers and also pave way to pensioners grievances. This disrupts the smooth working of counters and also effects SCSS business.
It is presumed that as the interest patch run by CPC on 03.04.24 instead of 31.03.24, system takes all the SCSS accounts opened during the financial year 2023-2024 as 15H not updated status and deducts TDS. When this issue was taken up with CPC it is replied that "this is the approved functionality. Kindly take up with Circle or Directorate for guidance on handling the customer complaints".
A line in reply is highly solicited please.
Thanking you Yours Sincerely S.Sudeesh Kumar
