OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Introduction of QR Code as additional mode of collection under BharatKosh.
BharatKosh, an initiative of the Office of the Controller General of Accounts (O/o CGA), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, is designed to provide a single-point service for depositing any fee, fine, or other payments into the Government of India Accounts. It offers round the clock electronic services, enabling users to deposit money into the Government Account via internet-based payment technologies from their doorstep using the web-based portal. This initiative aligns with the Government’s commitment to e-Governance by delivering efficient, effective and excellent electronic services, accessible anytime and anywhere.
2. As per Para 3 of the O/o CGA’s communication on the Service Level Agreement (SLA), circulated vide No. R-1200/8/2020-GBA-CGA-Part (2) dated 25.10.2021, the following modes of payment were authorized to facilitate the collection of funds for Government revenue:
- Net Banking
- Debit Cards (Rupay Debit cards as mandatory)
- Credit Cards (Rupay Credit cards as mandatory)
- Unified Payment Interface (UPI)/Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM)
- UPI/BHIM QR Codes
3. It is hereby intimated that the QR Code functionality has been introduced as an additional mode of collection under BharatKosh. With this implementation, all payment modes specified in the SLA are now operational through BharatKosh.
